Experience
Prior to establishing my private practice, I received clinical training and experience in a wide variety of settings including a residential treatment facility for adolescents, harm reduction for stimulant and opiate users, mobile crisis, adult psychiatric inpatient, Department of Veteran’s Affairs, schools, and community mental health agencies. I’ve worked with children, adolescents, families, couples, and individual adults. I’ve facilitated groups for substance users, anger management, and adolescents on the autistic spectrum with social skills deficits.
I additionally worked for the UCLA-Santa Monica Rape Treatment Center from 2012 - 2021. My roles at this agency included providing crisis intervention, psychoeducation, advocacy, and accompaniment to court.

There are many factors involved in determining whether a therapist is the right fit for you. Communication style, therapeutic style, and comfort with the therapist are three factors that can impact the work. My approach is a blend of relational and psychodynamic therapy. It can be important to explore how past events affect the present, influencing the lens through which we interpret and make sense of the world. Sometimes it's more important to focus on the here and now. Relational therapy can help you to understand the role your relationships have in shaping your daily experiences, and it can help you to become more aware of the the patterns that occur in your own thoughts and feelings about yourself. I also teach pragmatic and effective tools and incorporate activities that teach how to slow down an overly active neurological system, thereby allowing one to be more present and grounded in one's body.
