Adolescent & Child Play Therapy

Welcome!

I am a compassionate and authentic, licensed clinical psychologist currently working for the group practice of LifeStance Health (formerly Pacific Care Psychiatric Associates) in Emeryville, CA. At this time I am only offering appointments via Telehealth. My specialty is in working with individual teens, adults and relationship partners (monogamous or poly) who are experiencing a range of emotional, behavioral, and relational or sexual difficulties, including issues that stem from traumatic experiences.  I provide an eclectic style of relational and psychodynamic therapy that incorporates mindfulness techniques, empowerment, somatic, and energy psychology approaches to help restore balance to the mind and body.  Through collaboration in a safe and supportive environment, strengths are identified, and I will work with you to create lasting, positive changes in your life.  Together we can develop goals to help you live a more richly integrated, fulfilling, and productive life. I additionally have training working with adolescents who are experiencing difficulties related to underlying anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, or other adjustment issues. I support healthy child development through attunement and relational connection. I help my younger clients learn to build skills to develop language for effectively sharing one’s internal experience as well as identifying resources of safety and support.

It can be difficult to reach out to set up a first meeting.  I’m happy to answer any questions and help you decide if you’re ready to take action.  Please contact me today to discuss how I can help.

Areas of Practice

Individual Therapy

Life is full of challenges and chaotic, unexpected events that can be quite impactful to daily functioning.  It can be hard to meaningfully connect with others in today's fast paced, technologically reliant world.  Traumatic experiences may cause one to want to withdraw and isolate from relationships and the environment.  Therapy is a tool that helps when a person is feeling stuck or overwhelmed, whatever the reasons. I provide a safe space to develop an understanding of how stressors impact the mind and body, and I teach techniques that have been empirically validated to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression, and release trauma.  My office space is also a safe and affirming place for those who identify on the LGBTQ+ spectrum.

Adolescent Therapy

Teens experience anxieties, worries, loss, and other upset without necessarily having the language development or tools to adequately cope with stressful situations. Therapy can be helpful in providing a safe and supportive environment to explore the impact of stress or trauma, identify adaptive ways to respond, and build up coping tools and resources. I additionally help adolescents learn how to act instead of react, making intentional choices in service of reaching identifiable goals and engage in more effective problem-solving strategies.

Poly Informed and Kink aware

I work with a diverse range of clients and folks in expansive relationships. Whether just curious and beginning to explore ethical non-monogamy or kink, or needing non-judgmental support to foster healthier communication in one’s relationships, I can help. I provide a safe space to explore one’s internal and emotional experience related one’s sexuality.
